Dr. Tiffani Garnett is a Southern California–raised, first-generation college graduate who earned a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley; a Master of Public Health from San José State University; and an Ed.D. from the UCLA School of Education and Information Studies. With a career spanning more than 20 years at UCLA, she currently serves as the Director of Student Affairs and Inclusive Environment at UCLA School of Law.
Throughout her UCLA career, Dr. Garnett has been recognized as a compassionate, strategic, and agile campus leader committed to advancing student success, community well-being, and institutional change through an equity, diversity, and inclusion lens. Her work has spanned direct student support, cross-sector collaboration, public health education, and systems-level leadership across UCLA and the UC system.
Previously, Dr. Garnett served as Assistant Director of the UCLA Bruin Resource Center (BRC), founding director of the UCLA Intergroup Relations (IGR) Program, and an adjunct lecturer with UCLA’s Fielding School of Public Health. Across these roles, she has led several pioneering initiatives that have strengthened UCLA’s campus climate, health promotion efforts, and student support infrastructure.
Among her many contributions, Dr. Garnett created Bruin Love Station — UCLA’s first mobile sexual health and wellness resource program — and spearheaded the Bruin Public Health Ambassadors Program, a strategic, on-the-ground public health response that shaped COVID-19 mitigation and community education efforts across campus. Through strategic partnership with the Semel Healthy Campus Initiative Center, Dr. Garnett played a key leadership role in UCLA’s adoption of the Okanagan Charter: An International Charter for Health Promoting Universities and Colleges, making UCLA the third UC campus to formally adopt the framework.
Across every stage of her leadership, Dr. Garnett remains deeply committed to helping all members of the Bruin community optimize their growth, health, resilience, and sense of belonging — from direct student engagement to transformational institutional leadership.
