Oscar Menjivar, social entrepreneur and innovator, founded TXT: Teens Exploring Technology to teach young men of color in South Central Los Angeles to become technology entrepreneurs and to encourage young people to become catalysts for change in low income communities. In 2015, President Barack Obama invited Oscar to speak at the White House on innovation for communities of color. Recently, Oscar won the James Irvine Leadership Award for implementing effective solutions to end the school to prison pipeline. He has been a speaker at the South by Southwest Conference, given a TED Talk, and appeared as a tech commentator on UNIVISION. Oscar received his Master’s degree from Pepperdine in learning technologies.
